A good environment and society in Michigan isn’t possible without the right laws, decisions, and procedures. Charlotte’s role is to ensure that happens by championing deft, transformational policy making and advocacy. She also continues to lead the Michigan Environmental Council’s climate and clean energy actions, a role she previously served in as a program director for the Environment Council.
The Ann Arbor resident joined the Environmental Council in December 2017 after directing government affairs for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, serving in the research department for Obama for America, and coordinating public affairs for Planned Parenthood.
Charlotte brings with her a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in environmental policy and planning from the University of Michigan. She is also an appointee of the Michigan Council on Climate Solutions, a board member of the Citizens Utility Board of Michigan, a steering committee member of the Michigan Energy Michigan Jobs coalition.
The Durham, North Carolina native has adjusted to the Wolverine State well. With her two puppies, Belle and Jimbo, she has found a liking for Michigan craft beer, the amenities of Pinckney Recreation Area, and the beauty of Marquette and its surrounding landscape.
When she isn’t working you can find Charlotte running, hanging out with friends, or reading a good book.
