The Conservancy Initiative

The Conservancy Initiative is a volunteer-run nonprofit formed in 2015 to oppose the expansion of the Arbor Hills Landfill in Northville in order to protect the environment and their community. They work with neighbors, government entities, businesses and community leaders. This group of volunteers has yielded numerous successes in the years since. Arbor Hills Landfill has had to pay millions of dollars in settlements, has had the attorney general file a lawsuit against it and has caused a city workgroup to be created in response.
