Lead Education Day

Years before the Flint Water Crisis, folks of all sorts took to Michigan’s Capitol in Lansing. Their goal: educate lawmakers about the dangers of lead poisoning and what to do it about it. Then they did it again and again, adding more people as they went along.
Fifteen years later, and their efforts have helped secure millions of dollars to end lead poisoning. They have helped strengthen lead pollution rules and have helped make it so all young children will be tested as part of their routine doctor’s visits.
Now, you can join dozens of people for our 15th annual Lead Education Day, sponsored by Delta Dental. We’ll talk to a new set of lawmakers on how they can end lead poisoning in Michigan. No experience or expertise is required—we’ll help you out.
The stakes are high. Our federal government is threatening to cut lead poisoning prevention measures, and a budget battle is brewing here in the state.
