Mindy Koch joined the Environmental Council’s board in 2020. She represents member groups as president of Michigan Resource Stewards, a group of volunteer environmental professionals that advances science-based, professional stewardship of the state’s natural resources.
Koch joined Michigan Resource Stewards after 32 years in the public sector. She most recently was the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ deputy director. Prior, she served in other senior departmental positions, such as waste management director and real estate division director.
Rounding out her past experiences are her numerous committee appointments: the Michigan Environmental Review Board; the Water Resources Commission; the State Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Commission; the Aeronautics Commission; the Michigan Women’s Commission; the Climate Action Council; the Forest Finance Authority; and the Great Lakes Fisheries Trust.
In addition to her Environmental Council board role, Koch also volunteers for ICLE, Michigan’s largest lawyer support group.
