Carlee defends Michigan’s environment and combats climate change, inspiring transformational decisions at the Michigan Capitol. She does this by working with groups and people across the state to accelerate Michigan’s transition to clean energy and electric, energy efficient homes.
The Lansing area resident joined the Environmental Council in December 2022 after serving as the mid-Michigan regional coordinator for US Sen. Gary Peters. There, she served constituents and coordinated with community leaders across 13 counties. Prior, she analyzed legislation as a Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency intern and worked many seasons as an outdoor educator and counselor at Mystic Lake YMCA Camp.
Rounding out Carlee’s experiences are a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Southern California.
When work ends, Carlee enjoys reading, trivia, board games, and hanging out with her rescue dog Roxy. You might otherwise find Carlee shopping at Horrock’s Farm Market and Trader Joe’s; trying new restaurants; or enjoying all things outdoors—rock collecting, camping, hiking, and more.
