Great Lakes Council of Fly Fishers International
Fly Fishers International and its hundreds of member clubs are the only organized advocates for fly fishers on the national and regional level. FFI was formed in 1965 in Oregon to give fly fishing a unified voice, to promote fly fishing as a method of angling and to protect and to expand fly fishing opportunities. The Great Lakes Council represents Michigan, Indiana, northwest Ohio and southwestern Ontario, and it largely focuses on restoring tributaries, fighting bad mining operations and protecting streams from risky development.
