Friends of the Rouge

Friends of the Rouge is a nonprofit founded in 1986 to raise awareness about the need to restore, protect and enhance the Rouge River and its greater watershed in southeast Michigan. It does so through stewardship, education and collaboration across the communities it serves. Through work like community-oriented rain gardens, water trail creation and species monitoring, it seeks to make the Rouge River the center of the places it runs through.
