Friends of the Detroit River

The Friends of the Detroit River was formed by a small group of concerned citizens who successfully prevented a deep, risky well into the their namesake stream. It went on to successfully protect the only natural shoreline on the United States of the Detroit River and to oversee the river’s sediment remediation plan. It now runs a number of water protection projects and community events from its headquarters in Taylor and far beyond.
