For 26 years, the American Lung Association has analyzed data from air quality monitors across the nation to compose its State of the Air report. Folks can look up their state, their community and even their zip code to find what’s in the air they breathe, what it’s doing to them and what they can do about it.

So, what’s the state of air here in Michigan? How can we make it better? A cohort of healthcare workers and air quality experts—some who have experienced the effects of poor air quality firsthand—has the breakdown.
