Flood Proof | What Federal Rollbacks Mean for Michigan

Hosted by

Trent Wolf
“Flood the zone with sh*t.” That’s the phrase far-right influencer Steve Bannon used to describe a tactic for an authoritarian presidency. Disorient. Overwhelm. Don’t let up.
That has been American life since Trump took office on Jan. 20. We’re left treading water, unsure what it all means and what we can possibly do about it.
The Michigan Environmental Council has spent 45 years fighting floods and literal crap. Bannon’s metaphor is no exception.
The “Flood Proof” webinar series is meant to be the public arm of this effort. Every two months the Environmental Council and guests from across the state will wade through the muck and mire for you. We will show you how federal environmental decisions impact the state’s people and places, how we are and should be protecting ourselves, and how we can come together to aid the cause.
We don’t often involve ourselves in federal decision-making. But this is a watershed moment in Michigan history, and it must be addressed.
Registrants for the “Flood Proof” webinar series will be subscribed to the Michigan Environmental Council’s email service. Those that subscribe through other organizations may be subscribed to them as well.
