A single day to limit single-use items. A micro-event to cut back on microplastics. A chance to bag up some wins to limit plastic bags.

Whatever your motivation, the first-ever Plastics Education Day in Michigan is here for it. Folks from across the state—from recycling workers to health professionals to concerned citizens—will come together and to lawmakers online about the threats of plastic and what we can do to prevent them. Training provided!

Plastics are everywhere and they’ve been everywhere for some time. They’re the most common form of litter, found in water bodies, the stomachs of birds and the bloodstreams of people.

Fortunately, we humans, creators of plastic, can also create a place where plastic is used smartly and safely, if at all. We know what we need to do, and we have the tools to do it. That’s just what we’ll be advocating for on Plastics Education Day.
