Krista joined as the Michigan Environmental Council’s operations coordinator in March 2024. She works with the board and staff to help the organization meet its fundraising and management goals. Otherwise, its mission—to project our air, water and places we love—wouldn’t be possible.
Prior, Krista was a business analyst for Auto-Owners Insurance. She also served for eight years as a production manager for theater and entertainment companies like PlayMakers Laboratory, where young Chicago Public Schools students take part in creative writing workshops and have their work adapted into short plays and songs.
It was in Chicago that Krista received her bachelor’s degree in communication from North Park University. She has since received a project management professional certificate and an associate in insurance certificate.
Rounding out Krista’s experiences is her volunteer work. She served with the Chicago Green Theatre Alliance—which saves set and costume pieces from landfills—and now fosters cats through the Capital Area Humane Society.
Krista lives with her fiance Tyler and cats June, Winry and Henry in Eaton Rapids. There, she thrifts, upcycles and plays board games. She also enjoys traveling, especially to farmers markets, small towns and Lake Michigan.
