Coming together to create a sustainable city
MEC Community Outreach Director Sandra Turner-Handy addressed attendees at the Detroit Works Project’s May 5th Environmental Summit, telling them that they have the power to create a blueprint for Detroit’s future that is sustainable, healthy and environmentally conscious.
The Summit, at Gleaners Food Bank in Detroit, drew more than 100 citizens who participated in breakout sessions, including urban agriculture, water, environmental justice and air quality. The Detroit Works Project is designed to create a blueprint for Detroit’s revitalization.
