You're invited! Capitol Summit on rail transportation Monday, Oct. 31 in Lansing

Gov. Rick Snyder to deliver keynote address

What: A Capitol summit and panel discussions with state and national experts exploring how rail development affects Michigan businesses, the economy and the environment.

Who: Policy experts and political leaders headlined by Gov. Rick Snyder (keynoter) and John Porcari, deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Other participants include Federal Railroad Administration Administrator Joseph C. Szabo; Michigan Department of Transportation Director Kirk Steudle; former chair of the Amtrak Board of Directors John Robert Smith; CEO of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Rich Studley; Michigan Environmental Council President Chris Kolb; Michigan Municipal League CEO Dan Gilmartin and State Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer. There will be a panel discussion featuring elected officials including State Senator John Proos and State Representative Wayne Schmidt.

Where: The Lansing Center on Michigan Avenue in downtown Lansing, three blocks east of the State Capitol.

When: Monday, Oct. 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keynote address at 12:30.
