MEC to host Michigan Distilled: Talking Trash in Kalamazoo on Feb. 21

Jan 21, 2018

We don’t want to talk trash, but Michigan’s recycling rate is abysmal -- 15% -- and one of the country’s worst. Why? The state has failed to make recycling a priority --  until now.

Michigan has a new recycling bill that, if passed, would overhaul the way we handle garbage-- emphasizing recycling and composting while also generating new green jobs.

Join Michigan Environmental Council (MEC) and our resident recycling expert, Sean Hammond, at our new event series, Michigan Distilled, where you can learn more about the bill, how it’ll affect Michigan, and what you can do to help it pass.

The event open to the public and free to attend.

WHAT:  Michigan Distilled: Talking Trash, a discussion about Michigan’s new recycling bill.

When:  Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 6:00-7:30 pm

Where:  Bell’s Eccentric Cafe, 355 E Kalamazoo Ave in Kalamazoo
