Join us! September 25-27: Michigan Transportation Odyssey

Trek from Traverse City to Detroit will showcase Michigan’s groundbreaking year in transportation
Sep 19, 2013
Public transportation advocates, elected officials, policy experts and media will join in the 3rd annual Transportation Odyssey starting Sept. 25 – using trains, buses, bicycles, and feet to travel from Traverse City to Detroit.

The Odyssey is a project of Transportation for Michigan (Trans4M), designed to highlight strengths and weaknesses of Michigan’s transportation network. The past year, Michigan has seen a variety of groundbreaking initiatives both in and between our major metropolitan areas, from M1 Rail in Detroit, to bike sharing, to a plan to connect trails and greenways statewide.

The 2013 Odyssey will incorporate both passenger and non-motorized modes of transportation, and will provide an accessible glimpse into transportation for legislators, stakeholders and Michigan residents.

Media are invited to travel with the Trans4M team for all or part of the Odyssey, or to attend one of our events along the way:

 • Wednesday, September 25:  Kick-off Dinner (The Filling Station, Traverse City)

 • Thursday, September 26: Traverse Area Recreational Trail (T.A.R.T.) tour. Traverse City to Grand Rapids (via Indian Trails).  Grand Rapids Silver Line BRT tour (The Rapid, Grand Rapids).
